Server Cloud Backup

IDrive 360 provides a simple, secure, and highly reliable solution for backing up VMware virtual machines of any size, supporting incremental backup.

To back up your VMware virtual machines on ESXi,

1. Sign in to the IDrive 360 desktop application and click 'Server Backup'. A slider menu will appear.
2. Select 'VMware'. The VMware connection screen appears, with the 'VMware Backup' preselected.
   
3. Choose the 'ESXi 6.5/6.7/7.0/8.0' radio button.
   
4. Enter the IP address, Port, Username, and Password, then click 'Connect to ESXi'.
5. Select your preferred backup method: 'Online Backup', 'Local Backup', or 'IDrive^® 360 Express™'.
   • 'Online Backup' uploads data to the IDrive 360 cloud.
   • 'Local Backup' or 'IDrive^® 360 Express™' saves data to local storage.
6. Select the virtual machine(s) from the displayed list and specify a temporary local path for the backup.
7. Click 'Schedule Now'. In the Scheduler, either set a future date/time for the backup or run an immediate backup of the selected VMs.
   

To back up multiple virtual machines from vCenter,

1. Open 'Server Backup' in the IDrive 360 desktop application.
2. Click 'VMware'. The connection screen opens with 'VMware Backup' preselected.
   
3. Choose the 'vCenter' radio button.
4. Enter the IP address, Port, Username, and Password, then click 'Connect to vCenter'.
   
5. Select 'Online Backup', 'Local Backup', or 'IDrive^® 360 Express™'.
6. Select the virtual machine(s) from the list and define a temporary local backup location.
7. Click 'Schedule Now' to configure the backup schedule or start an immediate backup.
