IDrive BMR Express helps you transfer large amounts of data stored on the IDrive BMR device to your cloud account, using physical shipment of a temporary storage device. Fill out the shipment form on the web console to place an order for the Express device. We will send you the device with all the required accessories and the necessary information. You can transfer your local backups to the device and send it back to us. Our technical team will upload the data to your cloud account.

How do I place an order for the IDrive BMR Express device?
Fill out the shipment form to place an order for the IDrive BMR Express device. Our team will contact you and provide a quote, if required, after you place the order.
To place an order,
Sign in to IDrive BMR web console.
If you are already connected to an IDrive BMR device interface, go to Cloud Replication > Cloud seeding, and click Shipment Form. A new tab will open with the sign page for IDrive BMR web console.
Click IDrive Express™ tab. This will open the Express Backup page.
Select data size from the Size of data to be transferred drop-down menu.
Specify the exact size of data in the Special Request / Comments field, if you have selected 'More than 20TB' from the drop-down menu.
Provide your contact information and shipping details in the respective sections.
Go through the shipment agreement and accept the same.
Click Place An Order.
Once you confirm the order, we will ship the device to you with all the required accessories. Follow the set of instructions to transfer data from your IDrive BMR device to the BMR Express device.
I have received the IDrive BMR Express device. How do I transfer data from the IDrive BMR device to the Express device?
To transfer data from the IDrive BMR device to the Express device,
Connect to the IDrive BMR device interface.
Go to Cloud Replication > Cloud seeding.
Connect the Express device to the IDrive BMR device.
If you want to transfer backups of your computers, go to the Computers tab. Similarly, go to the VMware servers tab to transfer backups of your VMware server.
Select the required computer(s)/VMware machine(s) and click Transfer Now at the top of the page.
Alternatively, click Transfer Now corresponding to the required computer/VMware machine.
How soon can I expect data to be transferred to my cloud account once I ship the Express device back to IDrive?
Once we receive the IDrive Express device from you, typically, it takes a week or less to upload the data to your cloud account, depending on the volume of the data. You will receive updates regarding the cloud seeding status.
Can I transfer data to the cloud via cloud replication, during data transfer via IDrive BMR Express?
No, you cannot transfer data to the cloud via cloud replication, while cloud seeding is in progress. When cloud seeding is enabled, cloud replication will be paused. After the express transfer is complete, cloud replication service will resume. All your data transfers, including scheduled transfers to the cloud, will resume once cloud seeding is completed.
Is it possible to retrieve data transferred to the cloud via IDrive BMR Express?
Yes, you can retrieve data transferred to the cloud via IDrive BMR Express. However, you have to raise a request with the support team for Express restore. For detailed steps, refer to the BMR Express restore FAQ.
I have received the IDrive BMR Express Device for cloud restore. What next?
The data shared via the IDrive BMR Express Device for restore can be utilized in two methods, depending on your restore requirements:
You can perform files/folder-level restore if you only need certain files from the backup.
Restore the entire system using IDrive BMR’s bare-metal restore functionality.
Contact support once you receive the Express device for restore. Our technical team will assist you with your preferred choice of data recovery.
I am an existing user of IDrive BMR. Can I avail the IDrive BMR Express service?
Yes, the IDrive BMR Express service is available for both existing and new IDrive BMR users. Existing users can use this service to transfer data that is not yet transferred to the cloud account. After the Express transfer is completed, you can schedule your cloud replications to maintain an updated cloud repository of your local backups.
I see that the cloud replication is paused when the IDrive BMR Express service is in progress. When will it resume?
Cloud replication will resume once the data on the Express device is uploaded to the cloud. After the cloud seeding is complete, you can continue to maintain an updated cloud repository of your local backups using scheduled cloud replication.
How do I cancel the IDrive BMR Express transfer after initiating it?
To stop data transfer from your IDrive BMR device to the Express device, click Stop Transfer. If you want to remove data after the transfer, contact IDrive BMR support.
Is data transferred to the IDrive BMR Express device secure during device transit?
Yes, data that is backed up to the IDrive BMR Express device will be encrypted using the same default or private key configured on your IDrive BMR device.
