Since IDrive® e2 is 100% bit-compatible with Amazon S3, can I use my existing S3-compatible application (without making any changes to my application) with IDrive e2?
Yes you just need to point your application to the endpoint domain address for IDrive® e2 and enter in the appropriate IDrive® e2 access keys into your application. You can retrieve your IDrive® e2 access keys by navigating to Access Keys in the console, and then clicking Create New Access Key, and copying the access key and secret key. Know more >
Why do the names of the files I uploaded using a third-party software app do not look the same in the IDrive® e2 web console as they do on my computer?
IDrive® e2 is an object storage service that integrates with various S3-compatible applications. Some of these applications use their own internal formats and naming rules when transferring files. As a result, the files you see in the IDrive® e2 web console may display the names and types assigned by that third-party application, rather than the original names from your system. In order to view/access a particular file that you are looking for, it is recommended that you utilize your third-party software application, rather than the IDrive® e2 web console, to access and retrieve those files.
