Where can I check the health status of the hard drive present in IDrive BMR server?

The System Health tab under Statistics provides comprehensive information on the BMR server health status. You can check individual health status of the hard drive (OS and storage) from the 'Hard Drive Health Status' section.

Health status and what they indicate:

  • GOOD: Working fine
  • BAD: Contact support team immediately
  • Predicted to Fail: Contact support team immediately

Note: A unique serial number will be provided to each storage device to identify and replace them if the health status is bad.

What is 'Raid Health Status'?

The 'Raid Health Status' section displays the health status of raid devices. If one device stops working, the other acts as backup.

Raid health status and what they indicate:

  • Clean: Devices are working fine
  • Warning: Contact support team immediately
Raid Health Status

Note: A unique serial number will be provided for each raid device to identify and replace them if the health status is displayed as 'Warning'.

The 'Warning' status doesn't always imply that there is a critical problem with the raid storage array. Once you contact the support team, they will analyze the required reports and let you know if there is any issue and provide necessary information on resolving them.

Contact the BMR support team immediately if any of the raid devices stops working. Our team will analyze the problem and send a replacement device after processing. Once you receive the device, our team will assist in replacing the device over chat or phone support. After the device is successfully replaced and identified by the server, the rebuild operation will start. You can view the progress of the rebuild operation in the 'Raid health status' section.

Where can I view the storage utilization details of all my backups?

The 'Storage Insights' tab provides details of storage utilization. You can get information on total utilized storage space, overall saved space, overall dedup factor, file restore sessions, and created virtual machines.

To view storage utilization details,

  1. Log in to the IDrive BMR server web interface.
  2. Click 'Statistics' on the menu bar.
  3. Click the 'Storage Insights' tab.

Can I access detailed storage information of my physical devices?

Yes, you can view information on the overall actual usage, overall dedup factor, overall saved space, for all the registered client machines in the 'Storage Insights' section of the Dashboard. Additionally, 'File Restore' and 'Virtualization' provide information about the mounted file restore points and created virtual machines respectively.

How can I save backup statistics?

To save backup statistics,

  1. Log in to the IDrive BMR server web interface.
  2. Click 'Statistics' on the menu bar, and go to the 'Storage Insights' tab.
  3. Scroll down and select the 'Export' button on the right side.

You can choose from CSV, Excel or PDF format. You can also print or copy the data on the clipboard.

Note: The value displayed in the 'Data Size' column for each client is not the actual amount of data physically stored. Because of the de-duplication mechanism used in the backend, the storage space for storing full and incremental backups is utilized in an efficient manner. The 'Actual Usage' column displays the true utilization, with deduplication effect.

What does the Dedup factor signify?

The Dedup factor is an indicator of the effectiveness of deduplication. For instance, if the Dedup factor is 10x, it indicates that 10 times more data is stored in the physical space that is required to store just one unit of data.

Where can I find the VMware-related storage information?

To view VMware storage information,

  1. Log in to the IDrive BMR server web interface.
  2. Click 'Statistics' on the menu bar.
  3. Click the 'Storage Insights' tab.
  4. Click 'VMware'.
