Privacy Policy

Identifiers and contact details — name, email address, and message content when you join our updates list or waitlist, contact us, or attend an event.

As with most websites, we automatically collect technical and usage data — IP address, general location, device and browser type, pages viewed, and referring links — through cookies and similar technologies, for security, analytics, and to improve the Site.

To build, validate, and improve our driving intelligence and to support safety, our development vehicles record data while operating on public and private roads, including:

• Sensor data — imagery from cameras, radar, and other onboard sensors capturing the road environment. Because these sensors perceive the world the way an attentive driver would, they may incidentally capture images of people, vehicles, license plates, and surroundings, which in some jurisdictions can include characteristics treated as protected classifications.
• Vehicle and operational data — GPS location and routes, trip times and durations, parking locations, speed, heading, acceleration, braking, steering inputs, and other signals from the vehicle's systems (including the CAN bus) and the state of our driver-assistance features. Combined, this data may indicate the time and place of a recording.

We do not use this data to identify specific individuals. Our purpose and lawful basis is our legitimate interest in developing safe autonomous-driving technology, documenting our development process, and meeting safety and regulatory obligations. Our vehicles carry signage indicating that onboard recording is in use and identifying our organization.

Because our systems require an attentive driver, our vehicles may record driver-monitoring and in-cabin data — for example, driver attention and engagement signals (such as head and eye position) and records of how the driver interacts with the system (engagements, disengagements, and takeovers). We use this to confirm the driver remained attentive, to investigate events, and to improve system safety and performance.

We record video from the driver-facing camera only if you opt in through the system's settings, and you can change that choice at any time. If you operate a vehicle equipped with our system, please notify anyone who drives or rides in the vehicle that driver-monitoring and in-cabin recording may be active while assisted driving is engaged.

• To send the updates and respond to the inquiries you request;
• To operate, secure, analyze, and improve the Site;
• To develop, train, validate, and improve our driving technology and ensure its safe operation;
• To document our development process and detect, investigate, and respond to safety events;
• To protect our rights and the safety of others; and
• To comply with legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:

• Service providers and partners who work on our behalf — for example, cloud hosting, analytics, email delivery, and data-labeling/annotation partners who help us train our models, all under confidentiality obligations;
• Affiliates under common ownership;
• Authorities and regulators where required by law, or to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our organization or others;
• A successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.

We use essential cookies to make the Site work and, where required, non-essential analytics cookies (with your consent) to understand and improve usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking some may affect Site functionality.

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described here or as required by law, then delete it. Driving data captured on the road is retained as long as needed to train, validate, and operate our technology safely, to document our development, and to meet regulatory requirements. We may anonymize data so it can no longer be associated with an individual and use that anonymized data indefinitely.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, or object to the processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. You can unsubscribe from emails at any time. To exercise a right, contact privacy@idrive.com. If your request relates to footage one of our vehicles may have recorded, we may need to verify your identity and will ask for the approximate date, time, and location you believe you were recorded — the minimum needed to locate any relevant footage.

California residents have rights to know/access, delete, and correct their personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and do not use it for targeted advertising or for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. In the past 12 months, we may have collected the categories described above (identifiers; internet/network activity; audio/visual information; geolocation; and, incidentally, protected-classification characteristics). To submit a verifiable request, contact privacy@idrive.com; you may use an authorized agent with proof of authorization.

The Site and our services are intended for a general audience and not for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If we learn we have, we will delete it.

We store data with cloud and infrastructure providers in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the US, you understand your information will be processed in the US, which may have different data-protection laws than your jurisdiction. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for international transfers.

Our systems do not currently respond to browser "Do-Not-Track" signals. You can still control tracking through cookie settings.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest version; material changes will be communicated as required by law.
