Integrate OpenDrives Atlas with IDrive® e2
OpenDrives Atlas is a software-defined storage platform built for media and entertainment workflows, offering high-performance data management with intelligent caching, flexible storage configurations, and containerized application support. It removes capacity-based licensing, enabling cost-effective scalability and streamlined deployment. Integrating OpenDrives Atlas with IDrive® e2 adds a capable and scalable cloud object storage solution that facilitates systematic integration for secure and efficient data management.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure the following:
- An active IDrive® e2 account. Sign up here if you do not have one.
- A bucket in IDrive® e2. See how to create a bucket.
- Valid Access Key ID and Secret Access Key. Learn how to create an access key.
- Atlas v2.3 or above running on the OpenDrives hardware platform.
- Standard Atlas license (no additional license required).
Configure OpenDrives Atlas with IDrive® e2
- Log in to the OpenDrives system.
- Click Storage under Dashboard, then click Mount Management.
- Click New Mount on the Mounts screen.

- In the FileSystem Type dropdown, select S3 as the type of file system and
- Enter your IDrive® e2 bucket as Bucket.
- Enter your IDrive® e2 S3 end-point as Endpoint (e.g., https://v1e8.da.idrivee2-17.com).
- Enter the local Mountpoint on the OpenDrives system where you want the bucket mounted.

Note: In addition to filling in the text fields for a simple mount, scroll down to the bottom of the page to find a section for advanced parameters. These settings are an alternative to and in addition to the text fields.
- Select your Mount Profile (Existing or create a new profile per the instructions in the next section).

- Click Available Profiles under Mount Profile option, then click Add Profile.
- In the Add Mount Profile window, enter your IDrive® e2 details as mentioned below.
- Enter a name for the Profile.
- Enter your IDrive® e2 Access Key as AWS Access Key ID.
- Enter your IDrive® e2 Secret Key as AWS Secret Access Key.
- Click Save.

- If the mount should be persistent (will be available after a reboot of the OpenDrives system), leave the Persistent option active.

- A successfully mounted and listed e2 cloud will appear as follows.

Note: As a verification procedure, you can explore the bucket.
Create Samba/NFS Share
- Click Network and select SMB on the left-side menu.

- Click Create Share after expanding the panel.

- Enter the Share Name and click Filepath to expand the dropdown.
- Click Verify after selecting the Filepath.

- Select BASIC from the Recommended Settings dropdown. Select Save as a final step.

- The final result will be displayed after the settings have been saved and will resemble the image below.

You can now connect your clients to the IDrive® e2 bucket as if it were a NAS share.
