Integrate Buffalo Terrastation NAS with IDrive® e2
Buffalo TeraStation NAS is a high-performance network-attached storage solution that provides centralized storage, sharing, and backup with advanced RAID protection and security. It supports integration with cloud platforms and virtualization for flexible data management. Integrating Buffalo TeraStation NAS with IDrive® e2 allows you to extend these capabilities with scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud object storage.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure the following:
- An active IDrive® e2 account. Sign up here if you do not have one.
- A bucket in IDrive® e2. See how to create a bucket.
- Valid Access Key ID and Secret Access Key. Learn how to create an access key.
- A valid Buffalo Terrastation NAS.
Configure Buffalo Terrastation NAS with IDrive® e2
- Log in to your Buffalo Terrastation NAS web interface as an admin user.
- Click Cloud Storage on the left-side panel in the dashboard.
- Click
to Amazon S3.
- A popup window opens up where you can add your Cloud Storage Configuration.
Click Add. - In the Amazon S3 Settings window, enter the following details.
- Select Other Amazon S3 API compatible Service as Service.
- Enter your IDrive® e2 S3 endpoint as Target Hostname.
- Enter your IDrive® e2 Bucket as Bucket Name.
- Enter your IDrive® e2 Access Key as Access Key ID.
- Enter your IDrive® e2 Secret Key as Secret Access Key.
- Select Standard as the Storage class and HTTPS as the Connection Protocol.
- Click OK.
- Enter an appropriate folder name in the next popup window. Click OK to save.
- Add the appropriate protocols and access settings. Click OK to save.
The Status for the cloud storage should show Connected, indicating successful connectivity. - Browse your NAS network share and upload files to the folder created above. Those files will be transferred to your bucket automatically.
Note: Log in to your IDrive® e2 Console and verify the contents of your bucket.
