Integrate BackWPup with IDrive® e2
BackWPup is a WordPress backup and restore plugin that lets you create complete site backups, including files and databases, and store them across multiple destinations. It offers flexible scheduling, one-click restore, and migration features to simplify WordPress site management. Integrating BackWPup with IDriveĀ® e2 allows you to extend these backups with scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud object storage.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure the following:
- An active IDrive® e2 account. Sign up here if you do not have one.
- A bucket in IDrive® e2. See how to create a bucket.
- Valid Access Key ID and Secret Access Key. Learn how to create an access key.
- A valid WordPress Administrator account to configure BackWPup jobs.
Configure IDrive® e2 with BackWPup
- Launch the BackWPup plugin in WordPress and click Add New Job.
- Click the Edit icon to edit the title of your scheduled backup job.
- Enter a name for the job and click SAVE.
- Click on Data to select Files & Database to perform the backup.
- Click the File Configuration icon and select the files to back up.
- Click Save Settings.
- Click the File Configuration icon and select the files to back up.
- Click Frequency to schedule a backup as per the requirement.
- Click Storage to configure cloud storage as the destination.
- Select Amazon S3 and click Configure.
- Enter your IDrive® e2 S3 endpoint as Endpoint under S3 Server URL.
- Enter your IDrive® e2 Region as Region.
- Keep Version as Latest and Signature v4 as supported.
- Enter your IDrive® e2 Access key as Access Key.
- Enter your IDrive® e2 Secret key as Secret Key.
- Select an existing bucket from the list or enter a bucket name to create a new one.
- Click Save & Test Connection.
- Click Backup Now once storage is configured successfully.
