    Reseller CNAME Record Guide

    IDrive® e2 storage endpoints can be fully branded by setting up your own domain and securing it with an SSL certificate. This allows you to brand your object storage endpoints while maintaining security and compatibility with the S3 API. The Dashboard on the web console lists all regions with their corresponding endpoints.

    Configure a CNAME Record

    To configure a CNAME record for your region endpoints,

    1. Hover over the row for the required region and click Configure CNAME.
    2. Click Add CNAME in the slider.
    3. Enter a CNAME record for the user domain.
    4. Copy and paste a valid TLS Certificate and Private Key.
    5. Provide a passphrase, if you have used an encrypted private key.
    6. Click Add.
    7. Ensure the CNAME is mapped to the Target IDrive® e2 endpoint on the DNS provider and provide your confirmation to proceed.
    8. On successful validation the CNAME record will be added.

    Edit or delete a CNAME Record

    To edit a CNAME record,

    1. Hover over the row for the required region and click Edit CNAME.
    2. Modify the TLS Certificate, Private Key, or passphrase as required.
    3. Click Update.

    5. Provide confirmation by clicking Delete in the popup.

    Note:

    The following encrypted key formats are supported:

    • PKCS#8
    • PKCS#1

    The following encryption algorithms can be used:

    • AES-128-CBC
    • AES-192-CBC
    • AES-256-CBC
    • Triple DES (3DES)
    • DES-CBC
