Backup
Secure the files and folders on your Asustor NAS device by backing them up online with IDrive. You can perform immediate backup or schedule automatic backups.
To backup your files and folders,
- Click the Backup tab. Select the files and folders for backup.
- Select a Backup location. By default, data will be backed up to a folder on your IDrive account with your machine name.
- Click Start Backup to start the backup operation immediately.
- To stop a backup in progress click Stop Backup.
Note:
- The selected files and folders appear in the Default Backup Set section. You can also select a custom backup set (created earlier) using the Backup Set Name list.
- From the Backup Set Name list, select Select Backup Set, if you do not want the current file/folder selection to be remembered.
- To exclude individual files/folders (for e.g. file extension like tmp), which may be part of the backup set, from being backed up to your online account click the drop-down arrow against the respective file/folder in the Select files/folders for Backup list and click Add to Exclude List.
To schedule an automated backup of your files and folders,
- In the Backup tab click Backup Schedule, to schedule a backup for your default backup set. You can also select a custom backup set using the Backup Set Name list.
- Enter the schedule backup parameters and click Update Schedule. The next backup operation will take place at the scheduled time.
Note:
- You can create multiple backup sets.
- Click the refresh button on the top right corner to reload the entire backup list freshly. To reload a particular folder list, hover over it, click on the menu icon and click Refresh.
