Join our Enterprise backup team as a Technical Architect, where you will lead the design and development of advanced backup and recovery solutions for virtualized, NAS, and cloud-based environments. This role is ideal for experienced engineers with deep expertise in backup systems and a strong foundation in performance optimization, cloud integration, and emerging AI-driven development practices.

What you will be doing:

Backup architecture & development

  • Design and build robust, scalable backup and restore solutions for VMware, Hyper-V, NAS, and hybrid cloud environments
  • Implement core backup features such as incremental backup, deduplication, compression, and encryption
  • Develop cross-platform solutions with seamless integration into IDrive’s cloud infrastructure

AI-driven development

  • Leverage AI tools for code optimization, automated testing, and improved development workflows
  • Use intelligent systems to streamline debugging, enhance maintainability, and improve performance

Cloud & platform integration

  • Integrate with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their storage APIs
  • Ensure compatibility with enterprise storage systems and cloud-native architectures

Collaboration & technical leadership

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align architecture with product goals
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and resolve complex issues related to data integrity, performance, and recovery

Innovation & continuous improvement

  • Stay up to date on industry trends, backup protocols, and emerging technologies
  • Drive architectural improvements and introduce best practices for secure, high-performance backups

What we expect from you:

  • 5+ years of experience developing backup solutions for enterprise environments
  • Proven expertise with virtualized infrastructure (VMware, Hyper-V), NAS devices, and hybrid backup workflows
  • Hands-on experience with AI-enhanced development tools or automated coding systems
  • Strong programming skills in C++, Python, Java, or Go
  • Knowledge of backup protocols and APIs (e.g., VSS, CBT, RMAN, NDMP)
  • Experience integrating with public cloud APIs (AWS S3, Azure Blob, GCP Cloud Storage)
  • Deep understanding of data deduplication, compression, and encryption techniques
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to scalability and reliability
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience)

Good to have:

  • Experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) and backup strategies for them
  • Familiarity with enterprise backup platforms like Veeam, Commvault, or Veritas
  • Understanding of disaster recovery and business continuity strategies
  • Performance tuning for large-scale backup systems
  • Contributions to open-source backup or cloud storage projects
