Setting up IDrive Vault in Amazon Cloud

Overview

Deploy IDrive Vault in your own Amazon cloud using Amazon EBS and EC2!

To use IDrive Vault in Amazon cloud,

Create AWS account

You should have an Amazon Web Services (AWS) account to use IDrive Vault in Amazon cloud. Signup to create an AWS account.

Create IDrive Vault Instance

    After creating AWS account provide your AWS account number, along with the AWS region where you want to deploy the IDrive Vault, to the IDrive support team. Support team will enable the IDrive Vault AMI for your account.

    Create an instance using the IDrive Vault AMI associated with your account.
Allocate Elastic IP

    Login to Amazon EC2 console and click 'Elastic IPs'.
  2. b
    Choose 'Allocate new address'.
  3. c
    Choose 'Allocate' and close the confirmation window.
  4. d
    Select the created Elastic IP address; choose 'Actions', and then select 'Associate address'.

    Select the IDrive Vault instance from 'Instance' and then choose 'Associate'.
Create IDrive Vault Admin Account

    Signup for an IDrive Vault admin account. The set up page of the dashboard is displayed.

    Provide Elastic IP address on the setup page of dashboard.
  3. c
    Once you submit the setup page, the IDrive technical team will enable the IDrive Vault instance for use. You can then create user accounts to backup data to Amazon cloud.

    We recommend you to take periodic snapshots of your running instance for disaster recovery.
