As per your need, you can set preferences for displaying hidden files/folders, set the default backup location and choose the backup method for your Asustor device data.

Show/Hide Files and Folders

By default, the Show hidden files and folders check box is selected. Clear the check box, if you want to avoid backing up the hidden files/folders and want to avoid displaying the hidden files/folders of your Asustor device in the IDrive app.

Upload multiple file chunks simultaneously

By default, the Upload Multiple File Chunks option will be enabled to optimize data upload speed. This feature allows uploading multiple file chunks. To ensure optimum transfer speed, ensure availability of high internet bandwidth during the backup process.

Root Level Listing

Root Level Listing allows users to list their NAS system from root level ("/") in the backup page. This facilitates choosing files/folders from any location in their NAS machine instead of only the shared folders path. Users can backup any files/folders present in their NAS machine without any restrictions.

Backup Location
You can change the location of default backup folder
from the General tab.

The Asustor Backup appcreates a unique folder with the name of your computer in your account to backup data.

To change the default backup location,

  1. Click  , browse and select the new location on your IDrive account and click OK.

  2. The Asustor Backup app gives you two options to backup data.

The following are the backup options provided in the Asustor Backup app,

  • Mirror Path
The Mirror Path backup option, as the name implies, backs up the selected file/directory with its complete structure to a specified location in your IDrive account.

  • Relative Path
The Relative Path backup option backs up only the selected file/directory to a specified location in your IDrive account.

Note:
For some accounts, sections like backup location and mirror path will not be available.
